FAQ ABOUT LIGHTENING SERVICES & AFTER CARE
WHY DO I USE OLAPLEX WITH ALL BLEACHING SERVICES?

Olaplex is a bond multiplier containing a single active ingredient, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate.
Disulfide bonds in the hair are broken by 1.) chemical, 2.) thermal, and 3.) mechanical processes which lead to damaged hair.
Olaplex works by finding single sulfur hydrogen bonds and cross linking them back together to form disulfide bonds before, during and after bleacing/coloring/perming which means that
OLAPLEX REDUCES BREAKAGE DURING
CHEMICAL SERVICES.
Using no3 at home between color services reduces breakage caused by thermal and mechanical processes at home.
HOME CARE?
IN ADDITION TO OLAPLEX NO3 YOU SHOULD FOLLOW THESE TIPS TO TO MINIMIZE THE DAMAGE TO YOUR HAIR:
-
Condition your hair regularly, use hair masks, and consider applying a leave-in conditioner. Hair also needs moisture to feel and look healthy. Pair Olaplex no3 with a good moisturizing mask.
-
Always use a heat protectant before styling.
-
Consider a hair spray with UV protection.
-
Protect your hair from chemicals by using a silicone-based product on your hair or wet it with fresh water before going into the pool.
-
Use a good quality shampoo and conditioner for color-treated hair.
BALAYAGE?
Is balayage the same technique as traditional highlights?
Simply put, balayage is a hair-coloring technique, in which the color is painted on just the surface of the hair. Balayage has French origins and translates to “to sweep” in French. It is also a technique for highlighting hair in which the dye is hand-painted on in a precise way. This results in a subtle effect, similar to that of natural, sun-kissed hair and lasts for up to 3-12 months.
OMBRE?
This color fade uses your natural hair color at the roots and blends into your chosen color at the ends of your hair. Because your natural hair color is at the base of your hair, you won’t have the high-maintenance touch-ups that are necessary with other hair-coloring treatments.
Your ombré can also take a more dramatic approach by fading between two different shades of hair dye.
SOMBRE?
A sombré is a subtler version of ompré hair coloring that fades between two colors that arecloser in tone. For example, a caramel sombré can fade between two shades of brown, and a blonde sombré can fade from an ash blonde into platinum.
HIGHLIGHTS AND LOWLIGHTS?
Highlights are sections of hair are dyed a lighter color. This color variation throughout the hair adds dimension and can accentuate the style of a haircut or the shape of a curl. Instead of adding selected strands of blondes and lighter shades as with highlights, lowlights deepen the hair color by adding selected strands of darker shades.
COLOR MELT?
A color melt hairstyle is a transition between two colors, and it has a flawless gradient. There are no chunks, color variations, or dimensional coloring. Instead, one color melts right into the next.
AFTER SPENDING ALL THAT MONEY AND TIME AT THE SALON
FOLLOW THESE TIPS FOR LASTING RESULTS :
-
Wash your hair 1 to 3 times a week. Frequent washing fades color faster.
-
Use a dry shampoo in between washes, if necessary.
-
Get a quality shampoo and conditioner that suits your hair type.
-
For blondes and greys, invest in a good purple shampoo to keep brassiness at bay. Silver shampoos tend to dry out the hair so remember to moisturize your hair with a good mask regularly.
-
Use lukewarm water to wash your hair and cool water to rinse. Cool water closes the cuticle to keep the color molecules, nutrients, and moisture sealed in.
